China open to deepen cooperation with Italy: MOC

China is willing to continuously deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Italy and tap the potential of trade and investments between the two countries, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
He Yadong, a spokesman for the ministry, said during a press conference in Beijing that China is willing to further enrich the achievements of bilateral economic and trade cooperation with Italy, and promote the development of Sino-Italy comprehensive strategic partnership.
The two countries have broad common interests and a deep foundation of cooperation. In the past few years, bilateral trade values between the two sides have hit new highs, and it reached nearly $80 billion (586 billion yuan) last year, the Ministry of Commerce said.
China and Italy have created new highlights in areas such as shipbuilding, offshore wind power, energy transformation and third-party market cooperation, bringing tangible benefits to people of the two countries, the Ministry of Commerce said.
