Economic new growth driver index up 28.4% in 2022

The new growth driver index of China's economic development grew 28.4 percent year-on-year in 2022, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday.

The internet economy index grew the fastest at 39.6 percent and contributed the most to the total index growth with a contribution rate at 91.6 percent last year.

The innovation-driven index and knowledge ability index increased 15.5 and 5.9 percent from the previous year with contribution rates at 5.3 and 1.3 percent, respectively.

The economic vitality index witnessed a 3.5 percent growth and its contribution rate stood at 1.6 percent in 2022.

The transformation and upgrading index increased 1.2 percent from the previous year and contributed 0.2 percent to the total index growth.

The new growth driver index of China's economic development in 2022 was calculated to dynamically monitor the changes in the new growth drivers of the nation's economic development.
