New pattern drives regional development

Beijing Infrastructure Investment Co Ltd and its subsidiary Beijing Rail Transit Technology Equipment Group Co Ltd have built a new pattern of "Beijing design + Baoding manufacturing", further promoting coordinated industrial development in Beijing and Hebei province.

Under the pattern, a smart manufacturing base was set up in Baoding, Hebei province, improving capacity in smart manufacturing. A technology research institute was also established in Beijing, for R&D on high-end rail transit equipment.

Since the base was completed and put into production, a total of nearly 600 vehicles went offline serving Beijing Metro Lines 11 and 12, and Shaoxing Metro Line 1 in Zhejiang province.

The project has driven local employment and manufacturing upgrading in Baoding, said Qian Zhaoyong, general manager of Hebei Jingche Rail Transit Vehicle Equipment Co Ltd, adding it also helps cultivate upstream and downstream industries related to rail transit in Beijing.

The new development pattern effectively combined advanced technologies and innovation resources in rail transit equipment manufacturing, as well as drove the development of high-end equipment manufacturing in the surrounding area of Beijing.
