Family regatta concludes in Sanya

The 2023 China Family Regatta wrapped up in Sanya on Sunday. Over the course of two days, a total of 25 families competed, with the titles in the Hobie T1 and Hobie T2 categories won by Team Shengdizhuangyuan and Team TheJingtao 1 team respectively.
Qi Kai and Qi Yatong, a father-daughter duo representing the Jingtao 1 team from Qingdao, Shandong, secured the championship in the Hobie T2 group. Qi Kai expressed, "This is our first time sailing together as a father-daughter team, and to win is truly special. This competition has been more than just a contest for us—it has brought us closer and provided both challenges and enjoyment."
A Sanya resident named Zhang shared, "This event has a strong allure for me. Witnessing families from other cities come to Sanya for this sailing excursion fills me with pride for my hometown. I hope to participate in the competition myself, savor the ocean with my family, and embrace the joy of sailing."
From July 14 to 20, the Sanya Sailing Association will organize a series of promotional activities, including the OP Summer Camp and the 2023 Sanya National Fitness Sailing and Open Race. The aim is to introduce sailing to more communities and schools in Sanya, expand the involvement of locals, particularly the younger generation, in sailing, and let more local people in Sanya know about sailing, love sailing, and participate in sailing events.
