To alert officials and improve their conduct, the provincial discipline inspection and supervision departments of Qinghai province on Monday disclosed 10 cases of officials violating laws and disciplines after drinking alcohol.

The 10 cases occurred from 2018 to 2022. Among them, some involved personal injury and the destruction of property after drinking, some obstructed the execution of official duties, some picked quarrels and provoked trouble, and some drove after drinking.

On May 16, the Communist Party of China Qinghai Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Qinghai Provincial Commission of Supervision announced 10 disciplinary requirements for Party members and public servants at all levels in the province to prohibit attending banquets that violate Party disciplines.

Anyone who violates these 10 disciplinary requirements shall be suspended for inspection before investigation and punishment, said the commission.

They also announced five ways to receive evidence of violations, and Qinghai's disciplinary and supervisory departments at all levels have set up special teams to work on the inspection.

They worked with the public security organs and market supervision departments to carry out inspections openly and in secret, and have dealt with a number of tips.

Qinghai's inspection began after six department-level officials were investigated and punished by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision.

In December, the six drank alcohol while attending training at the provincial Party school, resulting in the death of one person. In April 2023, the CCDI and the NCS released details of the case along with the punishments of the officials.

On June 9, Qinghai's provincial discipline inspection and supervision departments issued nine cases of the inspection operation. Among them, six were detected by local discipline inspection and supervision departments and the rest were reported by the public.

The first round of open and secret inspections have been completed and covered all regions of Qinghai, according to the provincial discipline inspection and supervision departments, adding that further evidence has been transferred to the special working team for investigation.

In addition, the provincial public security department, procuratorate and court provided about 800 clues surrounding Party members and officials who were involved in violations after drinking since 2017, and the disciplinary departments are working on them.
