A ship from Taipei, Taiwan, carrying 138 metric tons of cargo arrived at Pingtan, Fujian province, on Tuesday, following three months of maintenance work.

Pingtan works to streamline customs clearance processes to save time and money for companies, increasing the efficiency of trade through digital tools and services performed in advance. It now takes only five minutes (previously 24 hours) for customs clearance work.

Last year, cross-border e-commerce trade in Pingtan grew 20 percent year-on-year to 10.6 billion yuan ($1.52 billion). Exports grew 9.1 percent and imports grew 46 percent.
