Desert crossing sets world record in Inner Mongolia

A new Guinness World Record for more than 200 utility vehicles crossing the Kubuqi Desert was set in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Saturday.
The distance between vehicles had to be kept at 7-10 meters and no vehicle could be left behind or overturned during the challenge.
The annual activity attracted more than 500 enthusiasts from all over the country, according to the organizing committee.
"I am quite excited to join in the activity. It is amazing and the people here are very enthusiastic," Li Jianwei from Tianjin told the local media.
The Kubuqi Desert is the seventh-largest desert in China and the nearest desert to the national capital, Beijing.
