A delivery man in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province has been credited for his heroic actions after he saved a young woman from attempting suicide last week, CCTV News reported.

Zheng Hui, 31 and from Anhui province, called the local police in Hangzhou early on March 6 after he delivered three consecutive orders - all alcoholic drinks, to a woman who he later found was emotionally unstable.

"I heard the shop owner say it was the third time a woman ordered the alcohol drinks that night," Zheng recalled from the moment when he picked up the order at a supermarket.

When he placed the order at the woman's door, he noticed she seemed distressed. "She smelled of alcohol, with tears on her face." Zheng left at first, without saying a word, as he thought it was not polite to ask a stranger what happened. However, he continued to strongly feel that something must be wrong with the woman. So he sent her a message asking if everything was all right. Then her reply made Zheng nervous. "All is not well. I don't want to live anymore," the woman replied.

After realizing the woman might commit suicide, Zheng immediately called the police. The police officers quickly arrived and found the woman was very emotional. After patiently talking, she gradually returned to calm. She was going to end her life over a failed relationship and, thanks to Zheng, her life was saved.

The woman later expressed her gratitude to Zheng and the police officers. "Your kindness warmed my heart," she said.

According to the report, in addition to delivering food, Zheng has also been serving as a volunteer in assisting the local police to keep the city safe.
