Fifty-two foreign-funded companies set up shop in Jinan from January to February, which is a 93 percent increase year-on-year, according to the Jinan market supervision bureau.

The local market supervision bureau has been beefing up its efforts to improve its mechanism and standards to help foreign-funded companies to better establish themselves in Jinan.

In addition, the bureau is bolstering efforts to boost the coordinated registration for foreign-funded companies in cities like Zibo and Tai'an and help lower companies' administration costs.

Jinan has set goals such as supporting 150 foreign trade backbone companies to further develop, and adding over 1,500 companies with actual import and export volume in 2023.
