China's industrial output up 3.6% in 2022

China's industrial output, an important economic indicator, rose 3.6 percent year-on-year last year, as the country's industrial production continued to rebound steadily, according to the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday.

Notably, the industrial output of high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing soared by 7.4 percent and 5.6 percent, respectively, year-on-year. Mining and manufacturing industries also saw 7.3 percent and 3 percent increase in the output last year compared with the previous year.

According to the NBS, the industrial output of State-owned enterprise and private enterprise increased 3.3 percent and 2.9 percent, respectively, over the period.

The production of new energy vehicles, telecommunications base stations, and industrial computers all witnessed a year-on-year growth of 97.5 percent, 16.3 percent and 15 percent last year.
