China and South Africa strengthen relationship through fair

The World Life Science Project Fair and China South Africa Docking Conference opened on Wednesday in Johannesburg, at which more than 130 medical units and companies from China and South Africa participated in sharing their latest achievements, aiming to seek opportunities for more cooperation in the future.

Shen Long, Science and Technology Counsellor of the Embassy of China in South Africa, said that the conference is expected to provide more potentials for companies from both sides to cooperate in the lifestyle and health industries. The docking conference will be held from Oct 26 to Nov 26, through online and offline communication.

China has been South Africa's largest trading partner for 13 years, and the two countries signed the "10-year Strategic Program on Cooperation Between China and South Africa (2020-2029)" in March.

"The mutual cooperation between Chinese and African enterprises has strengthened the communication between China and South Africa in the fields of science and technology, economy and health," said Daan du Toit, deputy director-general of the South Africa Department of Science and Innovation.

Zheng Haifa, vice-chairman of Sheen-based BioKangtai, expressed the intention to cooperate with South African enterprises, so as to promote the development of the lifestyle and health industries between two countries.
