CIFIT shows China's commitment to the world

The 22nd China International Fair for Investment and Trade is a demonstration of China's willingness to share its development opportunities with the rest of the world in scientific innovations and green growth, said government officials and business leaders on Tuesday.

They also said China's economic upgrades and high-level opening-up will inject new growth impetus to the global economy.

The event, which will run until Sep 11 in Xiamen, Fujian province, is themed as "global development: sharing digital opportunities, investing in green future" this year.

It has an exhibition area of around 120,000 square meters and will host more than 60 events to promote international investment and trade.

Guo Tingting, assistant minister of commerce, said at the opening ceremony of the event on Thursday morning that the history of the fair has well reflected China's delivery on its opening-up commitments over the years, and the fair has also witnessed the win-win development foreign enterprises have achieved in China. 

China will continuously expand foreign trade while bolstering efforts to attract more foreign investment, she said, adding the nation will optimize the services system for foreign investors so that they will become more interested in investing and developing in China.

Wang Jie, vice-president of Schneider Electric, said the company sees great development opportunities in China, its second-largest market, as the nation accelerates industrial digitalization and pays increasing attention to sustainable development. 

The company is willing to work together with its partners to jointly tap market opportunities presenting from digitalization and tap potential of green development, she said. Wang is also head of the corporate affairs and sustainability development division at Schneider Electric China.
