BEIJING - China's star striker Wang Shuang will not take part in the country's national women's team training camp, which starts on Friday, due to an injury, her club revealed.
According to a statement by Wuhan Chegu Jianghan University FC on Friday, nine of its 10 players called up by the national side have headed for the camp as scheduled, although Wang could not make it because of an ankle injury.
Wang has been nursing the injury since early February, when she twisted her right ankle in China's Asian Cup semifinal win over Japan.
The training camp, which is being held in Haikou in Hainan Province, will end on June 6.
