More businesses in Shanghai have resumed operations as the city announced all 16 of its districts have recorded zero new COVID-19 cases outside quarantined and locked down populations on Tuesday.

China Construction Bank, Bank of Communications, Bank of China and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China started to reopen some of their branches on Wednesday. Shanghai's Chongming is one of several districts that achieved zero community transmission in early May, and both Agricultural Bank of China and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank restarted some of their branches there on Monday.

Shanghai planned to resume eight train services on Wednesday. Three trains departed from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and five from Shanghai Railway Station, according to the official WeChat account of China State Railway Group. The routes were restarted to increase railway capacity in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region and prepare for the resumption of work and production, the company said.

From Thursday, another train from Shanghai to Lianyungang, Jiangsu province will be added to the schedule.

Many foreign food chains are also on their way to fully resume their business. McDonald's has now reopened nearly 120 restaurants across 16 districts in Shanghai, local news outlet ThePaper reported on Wednesday. Domino's has reopened more than 40 percent of its stores in Shanghai.

Currently, online ordering and delivery is still the main way the chains are conducting business, according to the report.
