China crushes Netherlands at 2022 Ice Hockey Men's World Championship

ZAGREB - China grabbed its second straight win in Group A of Division 2 at the 2022 Ice Hockey Men's World Championship after beating the Netherlands 5-1 here on Wednesday.
China dominated the game from the very beginning. Forward Jian An broke the deadlock at 17:43, and Shen Jialei scored another with just ten seconds left in the first period.
China captain Ye Jinguang put the puck into the net at the start of the second period. Refusing to give up, the Netherlands' Nick Verschuren scored a goal at 36:17 in power play to cut the deficit.
After the break, main forward Wang Taile and Fu Jiang added two more goals to get the game under control.
China next play host nation Croatia on April 29.
