Maycon's brace sinks Boca Juniors


RIO DE JANEIRO - Midfielder Maycon scored in each half as Corinthians secured a 2-0 home win over Argentine giants Boca Juniors in their Copa Libertadores group match on Tuesday.
The Shakhtar Donetsk loanee opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a downward header after Fagner's cross and he struck again with a close-range finish 12 minutes from time.
The result leaves the Brazilian club top of Group E with six points from three matches while Boca are fourth, three points further back.
Earlier, Agustin Rogel and Mauro Boselli scored within five second-half minutes as Argentina's Estudiantes eased to a 2-0 home victory over Brazilian side Bragantino.
In other Copa Libertadores group matches on Tuesday, Nacional won 2-1 at Velez Sarsfield, Deportivo Tachira clinched a 2-1 victory at Independiente Petrolero, hosts Libertad beat Athletico Paranaense 1-0 and Talleres Cordoba defeated Sporting Cristal 1-0 in Argentina.
