As the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership enters into force in Malaysia on March 18, China will adopt the first-year tariff rates it has committed for the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations under the trade agreement on part of imports from Malaysia from that day, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council said.

The RCEP was signed in November 2020 by 15 Asia-Pacific countries, including China and the 10 member states of ASEAN. It has already taken effect in 11 member economies.
