China's property investment up 4.4% in 2021

Investment in property development across China rose 4.4 percent year-on-year to reach 14.76 trillion yuan($2.32 trillion)in 2021, said data published Monday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Compared with 2019, China's property investment rose 11.7 percent, with investment into the residential sector rising 6.4 percent to 11.12 trillion yuan.

Commercial housing sales grew 1.9 percent year-on-year in terms of floor area, or 1.79 billion square meters, putting the two-year average growth at 2.3 percent.

A combined value of 18.19 trillion yuan worth in commercial housing were sold across the nation in 2021, up 4.8 percent year-on-year.
