A regional manager surnamed Zhang from third-party medical testing institute Zhengzhou KingMed Clinical Laboratory Center has been detained for further investigation on suspicion of violating relevant anti-COVID-19 regulations and policies in Xuchang of Henan province on Monday.

According to a statement released by Xuchang Bureau of Public Security on Wednesday, Zhang was suspected of committing acts that caused the spread of the virus, the statement said.

Police in Yuzhou under the administration of Xuchang detained Zhang on suspicion of criminal offence for a thorough investigation.

However, the statement did not reveal details, saying the investigation was still continuing.

KingMed Diagnostics Group Co Ltd, which holds 100 percent shares of the center, said on Wednesday that the company would cooperate with relevant departments on investigation of the case.
