MEBO Group, a health company with headquarters in both China and the United States, will work closely with US retailer Safeway to introduce more products to the Chinese market, according to the sources with the company.

The products will be introduced through the service trade platform MEBOGO, which was built after the company inked an agreement with the Bay Area Council last year during the China International Import Expo.

At this year's CIIE, which concluded its fourth edition in Shanghai on Nov 10, MEBOGO joined with Safeway, the second largest supermarket in North America, to exhibit its new products.

More than 3,000 varieties of selected goods from the US retailer will be introduced to the Chinese market within the next five years, according to the company.

At CIIE this year, MEBO Group exhibited its sesame protein beverage for the first time, a high-end nutritional beverage containing high-quality protein which can balance dietary nutrition and enhance consumers' vitality.

New member Synertech Nutrition, a California-based company specializing in providing high-quality dietary supplements, reached a strategic cooperation agreement with MEBO.

Under the agreement, Synertech's core products, collagen peptides, would be sold on the MEBOGO service trade platform.

The platform serves as a bridge to promote US companies' products and services to Chinese buyers while also introducing Chinese culture to those doing business with China, according to the company.

Over the last year, MEBOGO has built cooperative relationships with more than 100 overseas companies, helping introduce nearly 1,000 varieties of products to the Chinese market.

"The platform will help more overseas companies to promote their businesses online and eventually land in the Chinese market in the near future," said Liu Gang, vice-president of MEBO Group.
