China's 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities closes

XI'AN, China -- The 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities & the 8th National Special Olympic Games came to an end on Friday in Northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
The event, held between October 22-29, marked the first time that the two Games were held in the same city and in a year as the National Games of China.
The sports gala features 43 events, 34 for the Games for Persons with Disabilities and nine for the Special Olympic Games.
A total of 4,484 athletes from 35 delegations across the country have participated. And 36 world records were surpassed and 179 national records were broken during the Games.
China's 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the ninth National Special Olympic Games will be co-hosted by Hong Kong, Macao and neighboring Guangdong province in 2025.
The handover ceremony was held after State Councilor Wang Yong declared the Games closed.
