Aerospace chairman suspended over pending assault investigation

The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation suspended the chairman of its subsidiary investment company for an alleged attack on two scientists, the corporation said in a statement on Sunday.
According to media reports, Zhang Tao, Party secretary and chairman of China Aerospace Investment Holdings, assaulted Wang Jinnian and Wu Meirong in early June after consuming alcohol, sparking public outcry on Chinese social media.
The main contractor for the Chinese space program said it has already sent an investigation team to investigate the incident, and will deal with the matter seriously based on what is uncovered.The reason behind Zhang's violent attack remains unclear for the moment.
