Man detained after 8 injured by car police say he was driving

Police in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province, have detained a suspect in what they say is an intentional homicide after he injured eight people – four critically - in the central area of the city Saturday night.
Police said the 41-year-old suspect, surnamed Ji, ran over his ex-wife several times after knocking her down with a car at an alley. He also hit another seven people, including some passersby, when he tried to flee the scene.
During the escape, Ji stabbed two people, cut his own throat, and took the cars of two other people after the airbag of the first car he drove inflated after multiple accidents and the second car ran into other cars many times.
Seven people are still receiving treatment at local hospitals, and four are critically injured, according to local police at a press conference on Sunday afternoon.
Police are still investigating the case.
