China's largest pickup and SUV maker Great Wall Motors sold 92,000 vehicles in April, up 14 percent from the same month last year, according to statistics the company released on Monday.

Its sales from January to April surged 86 percent year-on-year to total 431,000 units, because of a lower base in the same period last year and the growing popularity of its models.

Great Wall Motors have five brands, including Haval, Wey as well as Tank. Haval vehicle sales hit 55,018 in April.

The H6 SUV remained the best-seller, with 28,019 units sold in the month, up 17 percent from the same month last year.

The carmaker's pickup deliveries in April stood at 20,200, bringing the total in the first four months this year to nearly 80,000, which accounted for around half of total pickup sales in the country.

Great Wall Motors' electric car brand Ora saw its sales from January to April total 38,159, up 754 percent year-on-year.

The carmaker continued its overseas expansion as well. Last month, its sales in international markets hit over 9,000 units, 349 percent year-on-year.
