Video forum on China-Europe grassroots sports aims at new area after pandemic

A virtual forum on China-Europe sports and leisure cooperation with speakers and guests from Beijing, Nanjing, Hong Kong and Europe was held from April 19 to 21.
The forum took a new approach after the latest version in Budapest, Hungary in October 2019, especially after the global COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in 2020, to tackle the recovery of grassroots sports for older people and outdoor sports.
Organized by the International Sports and Culture Association, this year's forum gathered 54 participants from 51 sports institutes in 19 countries. The attendees shared a vision of building a physically dynamic world.
Members of the forum will cooperate on outdoor sports, sports clubs for all ages and sports education.
Fan Luwei, vice-president of China Interactive Sports Technology Invention Co Ltd, a company operating the official website of the China Olympic Committee and organizing sports events, said grassroots sports events and competitions were held in 2020 after the pandemic control loosened in China. Last year was a good beginning for a win-win result for sports consumers and the industry.
