China announced it would further extend the period of tariff exemption for some goods imported from the United States until mid-September, according to a statement issued by the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council on Friday.

Approved by the State Council, the nation's cabinet, the commission decided to maintain the tariff exemption policy for 65 products from the US from Feb 28 to Sept 16. China will continue to exempt tariffs imposed on US goods as countermeasures against the US Section 301 measures during the period, the statement said.

The Customs Tariff Commission disclosed a list of these products, including medical apparatuses and instruments, manufacturing products and some kinds of wood. This is the third time China has announced tariff exemptions, which is also the extension of such measures for an earlier announced list of US goods in February 2020.
