LAUSANNE - Russian athletes will compete under the acronym ROC (Russian Olympic Committee) at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said on Friday.

The IOC said it had received confirmation from the World Anti-Doping Agency that "implementation guidelines for CAS decision regarding RUSADA will not lead to non-compliance procedures if fully applied".

According to the implementation guidelines submitted by the IOC to WADA, Russian athletes will be entered at the two Olympics by and represent the "Russian Olympic Committee" and use "ROC" as the acronym.

"All public displays of the organisation's participant name should use the acronym 'ROC', not the full name 'Russian Olympic Committee'. Flags should include the emblem (with no wording) of the Russian Olympic Committee on a white background," said the guidelines.

As for world championships in 2021 and 2022, Russian athletes will be entered by and represent their respective national sport federation.

CAS handed Russia a two-year ban for doping which will prevent Russian athletes from competing at major international events including the Tokyo Olympic Games, the Beijing Winter Olympics as well as the Qatar World Cup under the country's flag.
