Shanxi beats Tianjin to end 7-game losing streak in CBA


ZHUJI, China - The Shanxi Loongs ended their seven-game losing streak in the CBA after claiming a 108-100 victory over the Tianjin Pioneers here on Thursday.
Shanxi forced Tianjin to have 22 turnovers in the game.
"We lost because we made too many turnovers," Tianjin coach Liu Tie said after the game.
Ricardo Ledo contributed 21 points to Shanxi's victory.
Shanxi got on a 13-2 run in the first quarter where Xing Zhiqiang's slam dunk helped Shanxi to take a 37-28 lead.
Ledo and Ren Junwei stood out for Shanxi in the next period, widened the gap to 13 points before the interval.
Tianjin launched a 11-0 run and narrowed the gap to two points in the last quarter, but there was little time left for them to turn the table after Ledo's 3-pointer.
Lin Tingqian of Tianjin posted a game-high 24 points, while Shi Deshuai added 22 points.
The Shanxi Loongs will next face the Nanjing Monkey Kings and Tianjin will meet the Beijing Ducks.
