Daily online car-hailing orders in China at around 21 million

BEIJING - The online ride-hailing industry has boomed in recent years, with the number of daily orders reaching around 21 million at present, according to the Ministry of Transport.

To date, over 210 online car-hailing companies have been approved to operate in the country, according to the ministry.

A total of 19.45 million shared bikes were put into service in recent years, with the average daily orders surpassing 45.7 million.

The ministry said it would strengthen anti-monopoly efforts, enhance oversight and optimize the development environment in the country's transport industry.
