Ten typical cases concluded by the Shanghai Financial Court in 2019 became the first batch to be included in an online platform to further expand the role of financial trials in guiding the rules of the financial market.

The platform in the legal database by Dutch information giant Wolters Kluwer can be accessed by court workers, lawyers and domestic and foreign businesses, the court said at the launch ceremony of the platform on Wednesday.

The ceremony was held by the court, the China Academy of Financial Research affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Wolters Kluwer.

Information about the cases in the fields of securities, equity, bills, insurance and bank cards has been made available in Chinese and English to cater to financial industry insiders from home and abroad, the court said.

"Sharing the typical cases is an effort of the court to further enhance the judicial trial expectations for the settlement of cross-border financial disputes and further improve the international influence of China's financial trials," said Xiao Kai, vice-president of the court.

"It's also an attempt of the court to deepen international exchanges and collaborations in financial justice and take the initiative to help ensure the country's opening up as well as economic and social development at a higher level," he said.

Zhu Ning, deputy dean of the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, said that the China Academy of Financial Research and the Shanghai Financial Court have carried out rich explorations in financial legal research and high-end talent training since a bilateral collaboration agreement was reached in 2019.

"We look forward to continuing to strengthen communication and cooperation with the court to jointly promote the country's financial legal construction to a higher level," he said.
