Former vice chairperson of Xinjiang regional gov't arrested on suspicion of bribery

BEIJING -- Ren Hua, a former vice chairperson of the government of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region in Northwest China, has been arrested on suspicion of taking bribes as per a decision made by the Supreme People's Procuratorate, according to an official statement released Wednesday.
The case of Ren, also a former member of the leading Party members group of the regional government, was transferred to the procuratorial authorities for investigation and prosecution, following the conclusion of an investigation by the National Supervisory Commission.
The handling of the case is still in progress.
