New opportunities online as number of education tutors rises

Booming online education is spawning new opportunities, as rising young professionals warm the sector as online education tutors, according to industry insiders.

An online education tutor refers to a head teacher of an online course. Different from the main lecturer, the online education tutor is responsible for organizing and guiding students before and after the class.

"The essence of education is about people," said Kingson Liu, managing director of Xueersi Online School, the online subsidiary of education giant TAL Education Group, "One of our edges is that we continue to polish and optimize our courses to serve users well."

According to Liu, Xueersi Online School has built 15 bases for head teachers across the country and they have played an important role in the selection, training and management of head teachers.

"Our base in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province has provided a solid guarantee for more talents to achieve their long-term development. Over the past two years, many graduates from Zhenjiang, Nanjing and other places have chosen Xueersi Online School as the starting point for their career," he added.

TAL Education Group was among the first batch of online education companies that launched the business model combining the main lecturer and the head teacher, or a class tutor, where the two roles cooperate deeply in real teaching scenarios.

"As a leader in the technology education industry, TAL and Xueersi Online School have broad market prospects and huge development potential," said Xue Feng, director of Zhenjiang New Area's Administrative Committee.

"We hope that through the construction of the Zhenjiang base of Xueersi Online School, more advanced education concepts, education methods, and education structures will be introduced into the city," he said.
