Five Tibetan students from the Tibet Sports School have been chosen for the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon, South Korea, the regional sports bureau said on Tuesday.
The Chinese national training team for youth skiing and climbing arrived in Lhasa, the region’s capital, on Sunday for the selection of the athletes.
The five students were chosen from among 54 at the school. They were tested in a 3,000-meter race, chin-ups and standing long jump.
The bureau said the five come from different areas of the region, and were all born in 2008 or 2009. They will soon travel to Beijing for further training.
