Chinese artist Kong Ning, wearing a costume made of ripe quinoa, conducted a performance in Lijiang city, Southwest China's Yunnan province on Sunday.

She dressed herself as a "sunperson", and called herself "little red man". She uses performance to express her love for quinoa and bring positive energy to the field.

Kong's performance art is part of the ongoing public art season themed on quinoa in Tai'an village, Yulong county, Lijiang of Yunnan through Nov 22.

Kong says that the nutritional value of quinoa surpasses many other crops, and loving quinoa is also a way to love the earth and peace. "I will walk continuously to protect the earth and humans," Kong said.

The performance art is also part of Kong's "Little Blue Man" program, which has been shown nationwide and abroad in places such as France, Japan, the UK, Poland, Cuba and the US.
