Information published recently by a netizen about a civil servant in Rushan city, Shandong province, putting hormones used to promote oestrus in pigs into water shared by his colleagues for years doesn't conform to the facts as verified by police, according to a notice published on Rushan's official Sina Weibo account on Monday.
The police of Rushan started an investigation into the case after receiving a report in July 2019. Investigations show a staff member of the city's statistics bureau surnamed Yu added medical injections to the bureau's bottled water, according to Rushan.
The case has been transferred to the procuratorate and is being treated according to the law, and the results will be made public.
