Nanjing forum discusses integration of culture, technology

A forum titled "Digital economy leads the new trend of cultural and technological integration" was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu province today.

As a major activity during the ongoing 2020 Culture & Technology Integration Exhibition Achievement Fair, the "Hot issues and trend of culture and technology integration" forum had its third session.

The forum focuses on newly emerging hot topics such as big data in culture, digital content, media convergence and artificial intelligence. The forum aims to provide new ideas for the integration of culture with technology.

Shan Jixiang, president of the Palace Museum Academy and former curator of the Palace Museum in Beijing, shared his views on using the power of culture and technology to bring relics back to people's lives, through showing cultural relics and heritages in the Forbidden City.

Wang Xiaoming, curator of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, brought up the concept of the digitalized pavilion. He shared how his museum fuses technology deeply with culture.

In addition, a research report on China's development strategy for the fusion of culture and technology was unveiled at the forum by Song Yangyang, vice-president of the Institute of Creative Industries Technology at Renmin University of China, which has systematically introduced the new situation of China's culture and technology integration.
