The opening ceremony of 2020 Beijing Design Week was held on Monday, revealing this year's Beijing Design Awards winners and also launching the official poster collection for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

Titled "In the Perspective of Well-being", this year's Beijing Design Week focuses on the role design can play in building a well-off society in an all-round way.

Du Feijin, chairman of the Beijing Design Week organizing committee, said the design industry has been playing an important role in promoting the capital's cultural development.

"As a public service platform, Beijing Design Week attracts many leading companies and designers to gather in Beijing, which accelerates the practical transformation of creative ideas,"  Du said.

The permanent venue plan for the Beijing Design Week was released during the opening ceremony.

The main visual system of the 29th Summer Olympic Games won the 2020 Beijing Design Week Classic Design Award.

The official poster collection for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics was launched after the opening ceremony, and a donation ceremony of anti-pandemic designs for the Capital Museum of China was also held.

The 2020 Beijing Design Week consists of several events including Design Night, Beijing Design Forum, Beijing Design Expo, Beijing Fashion Week and Chinese Traditional Craft Revitalization Theme Design Exhibition.

It will be held through Oct 7.
