Zhejiang, Shanghai sign talent agreements
Zhejiang province and Shanghai signed two strategic agreements during a conference on Thursday to promote talent cultivation and employment as part of efforts to drive the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
An agreement on talent exchanges was signed between the human resources and social security bureaus of Jinhua, Zhejiang province and Shanghai's Yangpu district.
The human resources and social security bureau in Yiwu, Zhejiang province also signed an agreement with three Shanghai universities -- East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai University, and Donghua University.
"Jinhua is in need of talented people more than ever before and the city is now able to offer them a better platform to develop," said Zheng Minqiang, minister of the organization department in Jinhua, at the conference.
According to Zheng, Jinhua is now home to 16 industrial clusters and 29 national industrial bases.
Since becoming a part of the G60 Science and Innovation Corridor, a high-tech manufacturing zone, in 2018, the city has been focused on transforming itself into the world's capital for small commodities and film culture, an innovation and intelligent manufacturing base, and a harmonious and livable region for residents, Zheng added.
Ke Qinfei, principal of Shanghai Institute of Technology, said that strengthening cooperation among governments, universities and enterprises is pivotal to fostering the integrated development of the cities in the Yangtze River Delta.
Ke pointed out that universities will play a key role in leading technological innovation and cultivating talents, while corporations offer a platform for talents to utilize their skills to serve the industrialization of scientific and technological innovation.
