Tianjin Teda end eight-game losing streak in Chinese Super League
SUZHOU, China -- Tianjin Teda tied Shijiazhuang Ever Bright 1-1 to avoid their ninth consecutive loss in the Chinese Super League (CSL) here on Wednesday.
The Tianjin side still keeps it's winless record since the beginning of this season. The first stage of the championship format 2020 CSL season will conclude on September 28, but Teda only has two points out of 11 rounds, setting to be relegated.
The first real threat from Teda in this match came in the 54th minute. Hui Jiakang was on the one-on-one position against Ever Bright's goalkeeper after being found by Odil Akhmedov's long pass. However, Hui's low shot slightly missed the target from the left post.
Teda took the lead in the 70th minute when Sandro Lima donated a powerful header on Frank Acheampong's cross. However, six minutes later, Teda's advantage was terminated as their newly transfered midfielder Akhmedov was substituted with injury.
Chen Pu then put in the equalizer for Ever Bright in the 80th minute, which eliminated Teda's hopes to get the season's first victory.
