China's PP Sports to broadcast all Bundesliga matches next season

BEIJING -- Chinese broadcaster PP Sports, the owner of the local media rights to the Bundesliga in China, announced on Wednesday that it would broadcast all matches of Bundesliga in the 2020/21 season.

The new season membership package of Bundesliga and Serie A now can be subscribed online by using PP sports APP.

So far, fans in China are able to watch the new season of La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Serie A online, except the Premier League.

The top tier of England soccer terminated their cooperation with PP Sports on September 3. The EPL still has no broadcast solutions for Chinese fans.

According to the anonymous source, the top European soccer leagues like La Liga and Bundesliga have made agreements to Chinese broadcasters for lowering price, considering the financial reality during the coronavirus pandemic.

"The whole sports business is going through a difficult time, so the broadcasters in China have to buy the broadcasting rights based on rational judgement. We need to enhance our bargaining power," Wang Dong, executive vice president of Suning Sports, said during the 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).
