China Unicom sees rising revenue, profits in H1

BEIJING -- China Unicom, one of the country's largest telecom operators, reported higher revenue and profits in the first half of the year.

In the period, the operating revenue of China Unicom, grew 3.8 percent year on year to 150.4 billion yuan ($21.67 billion), it said in an unaudited report filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Net profits attributable to its shareholders during the period rose 10.9 percent from a year ago to 3.34 billion yuan.

Shares of the company edged up 0.19 percent to close at 5.32 yuan apiece Friday.
