MUSCAT- The International Tent-Pegging Federation (ITPF) announced on Wednesday the postponement of the 2021 World Cup in South Africa to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The decision to postpone the World Cup was taken by the Federation's Board of Directors in a virtual meeting, chaired by ITPF Chairman Mohammed Al Fayrouz," the federation said in a statement.
"The decision to postpone the World Cup from 2021 to 2022 came with the approval of the members, because the qualifying championship for the World Cup could not be held due to COVID-19," ITPF Secretary General Haitham Al Lawati said.
