Coach Aguirre leaves Leganes after relegation from La Liga

MADRID - Leganes confirmed on Monday that Javier Aguirre will not continue as their first team coach next season.
The announcement came less than 24 hours after the club were relegated to the Spanish second division despite a 2-2 draw at home to Real Madrid in their last game and a 2-0 win away to Athletic Club four days earlier.
Aguirre arrived at Leganes on November 4 with the club standing on just five points from their first 12 matches of the season and led them to seven wins and 10 draws (31 points) in his 26 matches in charge - a points average that would have kept them up had he been in charge for the whole season.
His job was made even harder by the fact that the club lost its two top scorers, Youssef En Nesyri and Martin Braithwaite, in the January transfer window, with the club failing to sign replacements.
