NEW YORK - Olympic shot put champion Ryan Crouser refreshed his personal best on Saturday as the American recorded a 22.91m throw in American Track League Summer Series meeting.
Having kicked off the 2020 season at the opening meeting of the regional US series on 11 July with a 21.87m throw, the 27-year-old showcased his strong form in Saturday's competition as he opened with a world-leading 22.15m, and then unleashed a 22.73m throw in the fifth round.
Crouser later highlighted the night with a 22.91m throw, one centimeter better than his previous career best set at last year's World Championships, and the throw also elevated the 27-year-old American to equal-third on the all-time list. Nick Ponzio placed second with 20.15m.
