Liaoning beat Jilin Northeast Tigers, Xinjiang hammer Beijing Royal Fighters in CBA

QINGDAO, China - Former NBA player O. J. Mayo led Liaoning Flying Leopards to extend its winning streak to four games with a 125-118 victory over the Jilin Northeast Tiger, while the Xinjiang Flying Tigers defeated Beijing Royal Fighters 104-86 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Wednesday.

Liaoning led from start to finish as Mayo scored a game-high 37 points, including 6 of 10 3-pointers. Guo Ailun finished with 28 points and nine assists, Han Dejun contributed 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Mayo hit a pair of 3-pointers to help the former CBA champion take its largest lead of the game at 96-74 midway through third quarter. Jilin cut the deficit to 110-102 in the fourth but Guo's three-point play put the game away.

Jiang Yuxing scored 27 points to lead five players in double figures for Jinlin, who suffered a four-game losing streak.

Xinjiang won a six-game winning streak as Zhou Qi had 25 points and 12 rebounds, including 14 points from the fourth quarter.

The first half saw a reversed situation between the two teams. Xinjiang opened the third quarter with a 10-3 run to lead by 57-49, but the Royal Fighters fought back and led with one point into the final quarter.

Xinjiang went on an 8-0 run before Zhou hit a three-pointer to establish a 14-point advantage and set the tone for the game.

Kyle Fogg made a game-high 41 points and 13 rebounds for the Royal Fighters, Xinjiang's Qi Lin and Fan Ziming had 16 and 11 points respectively.

Wu Qian had 32 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds to lead the Zhejiang Golden Bulls crush the Fujian Sturgeons 136-107, while Nanjing Monkey Kings beat Shanxi Loongs 115-100 as Joseph Young took a game-high 57 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals.

In the day's another game, Qingdao Eagles edged Tianjin Pioneers 113-108.
