With an increasing number of fine works being created, online literature and art are gradually becoming part of the mainstream, according to a report on China's art development in 2019.

Better quality and development, and improved overseas distribution marked China's internet-based literature and art last year, said the report issued by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

By focusing on quality, artistic internet creations have demonstrated their influence and are becoming part of China's mainstream literature and art, it said.

Typical internet-based works, including literature, dramas, variety shows, films, music, cartoons, and games, further flourished in 2019, bringing a number of fine creations with various themes, the report noted.

To better depict the current development of China's literature and art, this year's report has a separate section dedicated to online works.
