Zhejiang forward Hu named CBA's Player of the Month
BEIJING - The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) announced on Tuesday that Zhejiang Lions forward Hu Jinqiu was named Player of the Month for the third edition.
In rounds 24 to 30 played in January and the five rounds since the CBA's resumption, Hu averaged 22.8 points, 12.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks, powering the Zhejiang Lions to nine victories from 12 matches during that period, including winning four of five matches since the league restarted on June 20.
The Zhejiang Lions currently rank fourth in the 16-team league with a 23-12 win-loss record.
The CBA said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no overseas player has met the requirement of playing ten matches across the period, thus leaving the league's monthly award for overseas players vacant.
