ATP to raise funds for coaches affected by pandemic
MONACO - The ATP Tour has launched a program to raise funds for tennis coaches affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the ATP official website said on Monday.
The program will allow fans to receive private coaching lessons from legendary ATP coaches through auctions and prize draws.
Coaches involved in the program include Paul Annacone, Boris Becker, Darren Cahill, Brad Gilbert, Goran Ivanisevic, Ivan Lendl, Ivan Ljubicic, Carlos Moya, Patrick Mouratoglou and Marian Vajda, the ATP said.
The funds raised through the program will go to the members of the ATP Coach Program who have been forced out of work due to the pandemic. The ATP will also donate part of the proceeds to a global COVID-19 relief fund.
The initial three-week bidding window will take place from June 8-29 2020, with future rounds and experiences to be announced.
