PARIS - The International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the four Grand Slam tournaments will together offer 300,000 US dollars in financial aid for wheelchair tennis, it was reported Monday.
The aid will go to wheelchair players and national association event hosts who are affected by the suspension of events caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, said a report on rolandgarros.com.
The report said a total of 88 ITF-sanctioned wheelchair events have been postponed or cancelled since the ATP, WTA and ITF tours were suspended on March 12.
