NAIROBI - A video conference was held among Chinese health officials, experts and their counterparts from over 20 African countries on Wednesday. Using the recently donated video conference equipment from Huawei, the Kenyan delegation took part in the event.

The team included Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe and experts from the ministry, which is handling the crisis.

During the video conference, the Chinese officials and experts introduced the latest progress in combating COVID-19 and various prevention and control strategies.

After the meeting, Kagwe told local media that the meeting gave the participants "a tremendous amount of knowledge" which would help Kenyan people.

Stone He, CEO of Huawei Kenya, said, "Huawei is fully committed to supporting Kenya's response efforts. I am delighted that the equipment was so useful; it is a good example of how technology can help with communications, collaboration and coordination which are a critical part of the response to the threat of COVD-19."

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases stood at seven in Kenya after three new cases were reported Wednesday.
